New advanced materials for optimized vehicle ducts through more efficient and environmentally friendly processes.
Program: RETOS COLABORACIÓN – MINECO
Duration: 36 months, February 2016 - March 2019
Coordinator: MANN HUMMEL IBERICA S.A.U
More information: Jose Manuel Escuin
The project aims to develop a family of flexible conduits for the conduction of gases in cars under extreme working conditions through a continuous injection process (never before developed by this process) and from previously developing new advanced elastomeric thermoplastics using nanoadditives (Nano-clay, metal oxides, graphene nanoplatelets) and foaming through supercritical fluids (Mucell® Technology) and, thus, be prepared to face with better perspectives of quality and functionality that allow MANN + HUMMEL to be more competitive at the level With products of greater added value than the competition.
It is intended to migrate the manufacture of this type of conduits to a production through injection processes to obtain parts with improvements over the current procurement methodology: extrusion-blowing.
